Victoria,
a wartime evacuee tells her story from the time, a day before the
war was declared, she was evacuated from London to the village of
Fowlmere, near Duxford, Cambridgeshire.
Victoria
tells this wartime story through her then childs eyes, the tragic
deaths of her two brothers both lost in action, one serving in the
army in France and the other serving in the Royal Navy during Operation
Tourch, (an after reported) suicide mission that involved the loss
of two navel ships - HMS Walney and HMS Hartland.
Victoria
also speaks about the sighting of aerial dogfights between the RAF
and the German Luftwaffe during the Battle Of Britain over Fowlmere
and relates to the arrival of the American servicemen, the way they
responded to her as a London child.
