  • June, a delightful lady, tells of her story during the second world war. Starting from where she was when war was anouced

Her volentry involement with serving the servicemen at the the old Royston Post Office and the US servicemen at the Royston Red Cross Canteen, now the Royston Museum.

Her volenteering for service in the National Fire Service (NFS) and the tragic loss of her brother Nigel Etheridge, a flight crew member of RAF Bomber Command.

June, also talks about the prisoner of war camp on Royston Heath and general life in and around the town during the war years

June’s story is a valuble report of the history that was made during the War period .
