(Royal Navy) Cyril, tells his story from the start of the war
covering his life as a young lad volunteering for the Navy.
He tells the story of the town being shot up and bombed by a German bomber
onto his adventures onboard HMS Languard protecting the supply ships on
the Atlantic Ocean. He describes the extreme conditions, battles with German
U boats and the first ever attack by German glider bombs.
Cyril’s story is a very interesting account of what life was like
on the cold brutal sea during the war.
